Wood Destroying Insects
Commonly known as simply a “termite inspection,” a Wood Destroying Insect Inspection is a comprehensive inspection that identifies evidence and damage from termites, carpenter ants, carpenter bees, and powder post beetles. This is NOT included with a standard home inspection in Massachusetts, and requires specific training and registration with the New England Pest Management Association.
This is one of my additional services. If I’m already at the property for a home inspection, I can offer a wood destroying insect inspection at a discount, often as low as $75.
Despite damages costing U.S. homeowners over $5 billion a year from termite damage alone, wood destroying insect damage is generally not covered by homeowners insurance. It is no wonder why many home loans require a termite inspection.
